College Application Resume Example and Template
College application resumes should showcase academic achievement, leadership in school or community, and meaningful activities. Focus on depth and commitment, not just a long list of clubs.
College admissions officers look for students who show intellectual curiosity, leadership growth, and impact in their communities. Demonstrate how you've challenged yourself and contributed to your school or community.
A complete, realistic College Application resume, laid out in an ATS-tested template. The candidate is illustrative: the name, employers and figures were written for this example and identify no real person, so you can copy its structure and wording freely.

Resume tips for this job
- Lead with your most impressive leadership role. If you're president of student government or founded a club, that belongs at the top.
- Quantify your impact. '1,200-student body,' '300+ volunteers,' '$50,000 budget' show scale and real responsibility.
- List depth of involvement, not breadth. Admissions officers respect students who go deep in 3 to 4 activities over students who list 15 clubs. Show growth in leadership over time.
Common questions
Should I include my GPA and test scores on my resume?
Your test scores go on the college application itself, not your resume. However, you can mention your GPA if it's 3.8 or higher and include it in your summary or education section as context for your academic achievement.
I have a lot of volunteer and activity involvement. How much should I include?
Select 3 to 5 activities where you held meaningful responsibility or showed consistent commitment. Colleges value depth over breadth. A 3-year membership in one club where you rose to leadership is more impressive than 12 clubs with minimal involvement.
